20th Century Danny Boy reviews Banana Tail creator Mark McKenna's career in honor of his 50th birthday.

Banana Tail creator Mark McKenna will be appearing at the New York Comic Con at the world renowned Jacob Javits Center on Feb 23-25th in New York City.

Come see Mark in Booth 939 as part of the six booth KIDS LOVE COMICS section of the convention. Mark will be selling and signing Banana Tail books and giving away free stuff! If you're an educator, come and speak with Mark about doing a Banana Tail presentation and fundraiser at your school.

Mark McKenna visits Deer Park Elementary School

While I was visting some of my family for Easter I decided it would be nice to make an appearance at my niece and nephew's school and talk about Banana Tail. The Media Specialist at Deer Park Elementary School, Kristi Theurer, had me speak in front of a few groups of children, equaling about 280 children. I had a lot of fun trying out my new power point presentation and the kids responded favorably. A few weeks later I received an envelope in the mail from Mrs. Kennedy's 2nd grade class and Mrs. Kennedy had the children all draw their own rendition of Banana Tail and Friends.

I'll probably get around to listing them all, but I wanted to pick out a couple that I thought were especially fun. Lastly, I'll mention this to all you other young artists out there. If you would like to take your shot at drawing one of Banana Tail's friends or even BT himself, I'll always make room for your artwork in my “Kids Korner”
